What is your role at Mid-Cape? I currently manage the Wellfleet location for the company.
What led you to a career with Mid-Cape? I had worked as sales manager for a smaller, family owned company that went through a divorce and was sold. Having a family of my own I wanted something a little more stable so when I saw the ad for Mid-Cape searching for Manager Trainees I applied and Ken Kramer hired me to start in the Orleans location.
Describe Mid-Cape in three words: People, teamwork and relationships
What is your biggest accomplishment at Mid-Cape so far? So many things over the years, not sure if it’s surviving flights back from Nantucket with Jan flying or my stint as General Manager before the last economic consolidation.
What is something working at Mid-Cape has taught you? When you are talking to people on the phone they can tell if you are smiling and will react accordingly.
So far, what has been your favorite memory at Mid-Cape? The assignments that I have enjoyed the most have allowed me to become a part of a community and build relationships with the people I’ve dealt with over the years. I’m sure that is why I have enjoyed Wellfleet so much.
What does the Mid-Cape Experience mean to you? Working with and leading a team of professionals with a wealth of knowledge.
What’s the greatest bit of advice a Mid-Cape team member has ever given you? If you are going to do something anyway do it graciously, more bang for the buck that way every time.
What is one important skill every person should have? I have trained a wide variety of people over the years and the most successful were able to truly listen to the customers.
What is one of the things on your bucket list? I have been blessed with a wonderful family and six grandchildren that are all special in their own way, along with a great career with a company that has always tried to care about the employees. I guess I’m looking forward to being able to share an enjoyable future with my wife and family.
